A new rescue!
Mom found me a new duckie! It's a small duck about the size of my other rescue, Roadkill. He's red, with an orangered-ish beak, and blue eyes. He has little horns and is holding a pitchfork! She said she found him in the parking lot where I work. I don't have a pic yet cause my camera isn't working well anymore, but once I can get a new camera *hopefully by end of July* I'll take more pics of my ducks including this little guy.

Another new batch of duckies!
Mom should have kept quiet. She went shopping with my grandma to get a couple little things for the house, and saw some rubber duckies. So, she told me about them and I had her take me to Kmart so I could see them for myself. And, I ended up buying several. Heh. And I have more on the way, too. These ducks are taking over my house!

These little guys came from the bookstore. I'd seen them several times before and just never had the money, so I finally bought them this time around. It came as a set of the two ducks, and a small book about rubber duckies.

Got in the latest ducks that I ordered last week. ^_^ Nine all together, though 6 of them came as a set.

Devil Duckies. How big do you think they are? Hehe.

Got a couple videos of my duckies! I finally had to run some water in the tub and let them go for a swim. By the time it got dark enough for the light up ducks to look their best, the ground was too dry for them to light up. :( I have one video with the lights off so you can see the flashies, and one with lights on so you can see everyone.

Hmmmmm. Apparently the embed thingie didn't work at all, so I'll just link to them. This should work, I think.

*edits* Watching these, I moved the camera around more than I thought I did to get everyone in the videos, so kinda keep that in mind. There is lots of camera movement as well as floating duckies moving around. Hehe.

Still no visuals to post. I tried taking everyone outside in the snow, meaning to have the "regular" ducks watch the flashies do a light show, but apparently the snow wasn't wet enough for the censors so they didn't flash. :( I'll take some regular pics tomorrow, though. ^_^

I'll also have some new additions to the family soon. Ordered a few duckies from Century Novelty and some other place I don't remember the name of. I'm also eyeing some more possible new family members as I type this. So many cute duckies! Hopefully I can order a few more duckies after next payday, but things are tight this time around thanks to buying glasses.

*pokes community* Come on folks, post duckie pics! I love seeing duckies. ^_^

New duckies!
*I wish this plac were a little more active :( *

No pics or anything yet, but I have new duckies! And one more planned real soon. At the store I work at the Non-Foods manager got in a bunch of little ducks that light up when you touch little sensors on the bottom, or put them in water. They wear sunglasses and came in four colors, so I got one of each color. I got their "big sisters" last year. Same style ducks, but bigger and without the sunglasses. They have eyelashes instead. I also plan to get another duck that not only lights up when you touch the bottom or put it in water, but it quacks, too!

You won't be able to hear the quacking because my camera doesn't have a microphone, but I plan to run some water in the tub and make a little video of everyone flashing away. When I do, I'll post it up here. ^_^ I need to gather everyone up and take them out for another photoshoot soon, too. But, my camera doesn't work so well anymore after being dropped a couple times. XD So, I need to get a new camera soon to make picture taking easier.

my duck collection
My rubber ducks have their own web site (http://www.rubaduck.com/) but the web site is turning out to be mostly a one-way communication experience, so I've been looking for a more interactive community to celebrate all things rubber duckie.

Here's one of my favorite pictures of some of my rubber ducks:

Loire Estuary Duckie
"Loire Estuary 2007," is an outdoor, contemporary-art exhibition now taking place in France that features the works by 30 artists from around the world. All of the work is being installed along a 40-mile stretch at the mouth of the Loire River, from Saint-Nazaire to Nantes.
This giant rubber duckie is by artist Florentijn Hofman.
I didn't take this picture, but I thought all you ducky enthusiasts should see.

Professor Morocco's thrilling adventures uncovering the mysteries of the known universe! (or PMtautmotku for short)

This could be a new comic, featuring Professor Morocco (the blue duck) and his faithful student, Coconut Cream (the pony), uncovering the astounding mysteries of the universe (my house)!
I use Comic Life (Windows Beta) and Photoshop to create these comics, but seeing as I'm only just getting used to them, it may be a while before I actually make a whole comic. Oh and plus, my cam needs batteries :( it eats them.

Anyhoo, until then, here's a cover This pic is a bit small, but if you click it, it enlargens and you can read the writing.

I'm New!
I was so happy to find this community, my ducks can now meet others! Check out my journal, because when I buy a new duck or shelf-dweller, I always update!
Here is a now relatively old pic of my collection:

I'll probably take a new pic, as my collection has grown since this was taken.

Brand New!
I absolutley love ducks. And Rubber duckies. So, what better thing to do, than to join this community!

Here is a pic of my little duckie collection. I had ONE more, the one that tells if the water is hot or cold, which was my first rubber duck but I can't find him *sob* [He was an anniversary present too :(] But I'll try and look for him.

The stuffed yellow duck, was given to me by my boyfriend, and he found it on the floor near a bush I think. Who would throw a cute little stuffed duckling away? :o

Duckies at the playground!

My old ducks meeting the newest members of the family.

+9Collapse )

I would have taken more pics, but it was kind of cold out, and I didn't want all the moisture hanging around to damage the light up ducks. I'll take more pictures eventually. ^_^

Took a pic of my duckies, as well as a 51 second video. ^_^ WARNING! The video is of four ducks flashing in the dark, so if you're prone to seizures, watch at your own risk or don't watch at all.

First, the pic!

My four new additions. I'll take pictures of them meeting the rest of the family when I find them.

And the video:

I hope that works. Never uploaded a video to Photobucket before. XD If it doesn't I'll imbed it and stick it behind a cut instead.

No pics just yet, but I'll be taking some pics, and I'll attempt a short video soon. But, I just bought four new duckies from work. Looking at them, they look like normal old rubber duckies. But, there are little censor things on the bottom that, when you touch them, make them light up! They flash three or four different colors for a few seconds. I got one of each color we had at work: yellow, blue, pink, and white.

Also, once I find the box my other duckies are in *we moved awhile ago and I haven't unpacked everything yet* I'll take more pictures of the whole family, including my new additions!
